AI models don't have to reach human-level intelligence to be disruptive to society。 They're already astounding in their capabilities in many areas， both as assistants that extend human work and when running unattended。 However， the dream of an advanced AI that truly understands， learns， and generalizes its abilities， may still be decades away。
